Hard Hacks
Hack Database Search - Amiga HackNet MirrorI have only just recently taken over this page from the Amiga Alley web site, and although these are Colin Thompsons hacks, I am providing them still on my site to remain as an information resource for others, as to if I shall add to this page or not in the future I do not yet know.
The Amiga HackNet table is a step in the right direction. Tom Weeks maintains the master listing for this valuable resource. If you would like to host a HackNet mirror on your page, contact D Tek.
If you know of a good link to add here, please send it to me. Don't be bashful. If you have an unpublished, or difficult to find hack on your web site, please let me add a link here.
If you have a problem to do with a hardware hack I'd advise asking in an Amiga Newsgroup before asking me :). If you email me with a problem I will try to help but I am no expert, and someone like D Tek or the likes would be a lot better a person to answer your questions than me.

I have two Amigas in towers. Since I have several video capture devices, I can document the arangement of the motherboards, drives and power supplies pretty well. Below are some pics to show you how they look.

Put a ZIP in a tower
- Make the bracket I used a set
of 3.5" to 5.25" adaptor brackets. You must remove the 3.5" side
plates. Then the ZIP will sit on what's left of the bracket.
- Put it in the bay Install both plates, slide the
ZIP into place, connect the cables, and secure the ZIP to the plates
with a few tie wraps.
- Make the faceplate I used a faceplate that I already had. It had a large rectangular hole cut out of it. I simply cut away more of it until the disk can be inserted, and the eject button can be pushed. I also cut a small hole so the disk access light can be seen.
